Στις 7 Μαίου 1970 κυκλοφορεί στις ΗΠΑ το τελευταίο single των Beatles. Πρόκειται για το τραγούδι The Long And Winding Road, μια σύνθεση των Paul McCartney και John Lennon που φτάνει στην κορυφή στις 13 Ιουνίου και παραμένει Νο1 για δύο συνεχόμενες εβδομάδες. Παραγωγός του single, που στη δεύτερη πλευρά του περιέχει το τραγούδι For You Blue, είναι ο George Martin. Το τραγούδι περιέχεται στο δωδέκατο και τελευταίο άλμπουμ των θρυλικών σκαθαριών με τίτλο Let It Be. Το άλμπουμ, παρόλο που ηχογραφήθηκε πριν το Abbey Road κυκλοφόρησε μετά από αυτό, στις 8 Μαίου 1970, λίγο πριν το συγκρότημα διαλυθεί και περάσει στην ιστορία.
